A Treasury of Shadows: 4 Edgar Sullivan Paranormal Mysteries (Collection 1) (The Case Files of Edgar Sullivan), by OJ Connell

The veil that divides the worlds of the living and the dead-- a fixture which has largely shielded mankind from the supernatural throughout history-- has been known occasionally to diminish. Due to such fluctuations, human beings are sometimes accosted by phantoms and other curious sorts from the shadows...

This affordable collection brings together the first four installments of the Case Files of Edgar Sullivan series. Explore the supernatural and the occult in these four chilling tales!

The Smell of Leather:
While investigating a series of strange occurrences at a neighbor's home, paranormal investigator Edgar Sullivan uncovers details concerning the house's eerie past.

In the 1970's, 17-year-old Natalie May committed suicide in the house. Her spirit has remained trapped within the home for more than three decades and has recently begun to manifest in strange ways. If the house's owners are to live in peace, Sullivan will have to find a way to exorcise her. The spirit of a suicide victim can be difficult to oust, however. Sullivan will have to go to great lengths to sever the ties that bind Natalie to the property and will learn, perhaps too late, her true reason for lingering in the world of men.

The Pale Watcher:
A letter from a prospective client brings paranormal investigator Edgar Sullivan face to face with a terror the likes of which he's never known. The client, Henry Whitaker, seeks to cast out a troublesome resident spirit he has termed the "Pale Watcher." Each night, this frightening apparition manifests in his bedroom and watches him sleep till morning. Sullivan agrees to take on the case and travels to the Whitaker estate in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Upon his arrival in the midst of a January snowstorm, Sullivan is informed by the head servant, Louis, that Henry Whitaker has fallen mysteriously ill. With his client hospitalized and a blizzard raging outside, he begins his investigation.

The winters of the Upper Peninsula are infamously brutal. Trapped by the snow, Sullivan is forced to confront the horrors that dwell in the Whitaker estate. Throughout the course of his investigation he comes upon strange clues; Mr. Whitaker's journal, a demonic sigil, a room full of antique mirrors. Can Sullivan piece together these clues and come up with a way to stop the haunting, or will he and Louis be devoured by the malevolence of the Pale Watcher?

The Diadem:
Salvador Dobson, a wealthy antique collector, ends up with more than he bargained for after purchasing a rare diadem at auction. While at first he is taken with its stunning beauty, its true nature is soon revealed to him. When he finds a terrifying apparition emerging from the diadem, he calls paranormal investigator Edgar Sullivan to exorcise it.

Sullivan's initial attempts aren't successful, however. The spirit possessing the diadem is of a strange and powerful sort, and is unlike anything the investigator has ever encountered. He soon comes to realize that the spirit he seeks to get rid of may be the harbinger of something terrible.

The Scourge:
When Edgar Sullivan finds one of his clients dead and covered in strange, black cockroaches, he decides to consult a local exterminator. Rudolph, the exterminator, fills him in on something: These roaches have been seen elsewhere-- and they've killed before. Eager to avoid more deaths, Sullivan collaborates with the exterminator and tracks down the plague of roaches as they prepare to swarm their next victim.

Can Sullivan overcome his fear and put a stop to the scourge of insects, or will he be forced to let nature run its course? And, is it truly mother nature who's driving the insects to kill, or is it the work of something more sinister?

Enjoy these 4 tales of the supernatural at a great price!
